We’ve created this FAQ to help answer some of the questions you may have regarding being a Contributor.

How do I become a Contributor?
Just follow the sign-up process to start the ball rolling.

Why do I have to sign a contract?
This is to protect both you and OSRToday/InfiniBadger Press as well as to allow us to pay you for the content that you will be sharing with the readership. The contract spells out explicitly all the details of this. Because we are creating content to be shared with a larger community, there are certain legal requirements that we need to follow to allow us to allow you to post on the site for compensation.

Why do I have to have an account on the site to post?
Part of this is to ease the administrative burden on us, but it also to allow you to work on generating content whenever you want to. Compensation is calculated by tracking posts published by individual contributor accounts by internal software.

I have an idea for a post. What do I do?
If it’s a post that falls easily into the normal types of posts, just start generating the post as a draft post for review in the system. Once you’ve completed the posts, submit it for review, and the editors will take it from there.

I have an idea for a series of posts, or a post that doesn’t fall into the normal types of posts published at the site. What should I do?
The first thing to do is contact the editorial staff and speak to them about it to see if it’s something that can or should be published.

I want to publish a review of a product. Can I?
At the moment we aren’t posting reviews of products. This is because in the near future we’re going to be implementing a comprehensive review system that is beneficial to creators and consumers.

I want to create content for someone else’s intellectual property. Can I?
It may be possible. Products that have open licenses are easy to write for and as long as the the open license is referenced and included, then there’s no problem in most cases. In some cases, we may need to seek permission from publishers to generate content for their intellectual property even if they use an open license because of the amount or type of content that a contributor wants to create.

Do I have to post on a set schedule?
Not at all. You can post as little or as often as you like, subject to editorial review.

How do I earn money for posting on the site?
OSRToday uses a Revenue Sharing Model where you earn money based on how often your content is viewed. Currently the pay per qualifying view is $0.002 US.

When will I be paid for my posts?
All payments for revenue earned is paid according to the schedule in our Revenue Sharing Model. This is currently set to pay in the following month for all qualifying views the previous month.

Can I see how much I have earned from my posts?
Yes! Our compensation tracking software allows you to see in real time how much you have earned for current and previous months.
