According to a post on the Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition Kickstarter backer updates page, Greg Stafford and Sandy Petersen are returning to the fold at Chaosium. Gregg was the founder of Chaosium and returns as President, and Sandy was the originator of the game. It seems that the return of these two eminent members of the gaming community is to help resolve issues in completing delivery of the two current Chaosium Kickstarter campaigns and to get the new version of Call of Cthulhu out into the hands of gamers, as well as developing other future product lines. Backers and others have been waiting patiently for the full game to be released to them in print. To date only the Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition Quick Start Rules [AL] has been released so far for the new edition outside of the Chaosium webstore, which is carrying the Keeper Rulebook and the Investigator Handbook in digital formats (PDF and ebooks). The full previous edition of the game continues to sell well in digital format on both DriveThruRPG [AL] and RPGNow [AL], but the latest versions are conspicuously absent for purchase.
Sandy posted today in the comments page that his focus is on getting the 7th edition of the game out:
Sandy has also posted over at Yog-Sothoth to clarify the new staffing and reiterate some of the above.
Updated June 3: Corrected error about only the Quick Start being available and adding the link to Yog-Sothoth.
