“Many Monsters Carry Treasure”, a continued look at Holmes Basic

At the Zenopus Archives, a blog dedicated to Holmes Basic, there’s been a series running examining the original manuscript for the game against the final version that was published. The most recent post looks at monsters and treasure. For those who are interested in the transition from OD&D into what became the first version of D&D Basic, the series is a very interesting and academic approach to understanding how the book was put together from a reconstructionist point-of-view. Fans of Jon Peterson’s Playing at the World [AL] should definitely check out this series.
