On Dex vs Con

Character creation sometimes comes down down to strategic decisions for some players in the placement of attribute values in some games, especially after class requisites have been met. In a post on his blog The Tao of D&D, Alexis Smolensk looks at an example situation of comparing Dexterity against Constitution.

One thing not mentioned is that while higher DEX values can improve AC values and attack values, the bonus is pretty static and never really changes as levels increase. CON provides a continual bonus for most characters above an beyond the first level, which can be more beneficial for some “squishy” classes in some circumstances.
